Our company was established in 1983 and currently has seven subsidiaries including Guangdong Antaeus Shantou Eel Breeding Co., Ltd., Guangdong Antaeus Bioengineering Co., Ltd., Guangdong Antaeus Shantou Health Foods Co., Ltd., Shantou Jiantai Marine Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Shantou Jiantai Aquiculture Co., Ltd., Shantou Lianxia Antaeus Health Products Specialty Store Co., Ltd., and Shantou Wenhua East Antaeus Health Products Specialty Store Co., Ltd.

Since 1990, Antaeus has been engaged in the research and development of marine functional foods. With a strong emphasis on R&D, we have established cooperative relationship with hundreds of experts, professors, and senior engineers from over ten universities and research institutes including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, Wuhan University, First Military Medical University, and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Starting from eel breeding, Antaeus has extended its R&D to softshell turtle, crocodile, and pearl. With active substances extracted from ETCP (Eel, Softshell Turtle, Crocodile, Pearl) to enrich and regulate body functions, Antaeus has developed a series of products that are beneficial in regulating blood fat and internal secretion, improving memory, preventing dementia and tumor, enhancing immunity, relieving fatigue, and beautifying skin. Numerous functional tests, clinical tests and stability tests, as well as technical appraisals conducted by experts from Guangdong Food Industry Association, show that our production and processing techniques are highly advanced and unique because not only can they retained the bioactivity but also the quality. Since the launch of our products, Antaeus has received a great number of science and technology awards and honors at the national and provincial level.

In 1996, “The Development of China's Marine Programs”, a white book issued by the Chinese government states that, “China should attach great importance to marine development and treat marine program as a national development strategy”. Our company started R&D in marine biotechnology in 1990, six years ahead of the government’s official advocate for marine industry development. This shows that Antaeus stays ahead of market trends with forward-looking visions.

Antaeus is the initiator of eel breeding on tidal flat in China and has established the largest eel farm domestically. As early as 1992, Antaeus’ eel breeding technique has already been listed in China’s “Spark Program”, which is a government program aimed at popularizing modern technology in rural areas.
Besides eel farm, Antaeus has it s own softshell turtle farm and jointly-run pearl farm. In addition, Antaeus holds a significant stake in Sriracha Farm Group in Thailand. It is the largest crocodile farms in the world, where over 100,000 crocodiles are bred. These means Antaeus has a stable supply of raw materials for finished products. All the marine resources are bred in natural unpolluted environments. Antaeus has received many prestigious honors in the past years including “Private Scientific and Technological Enterprise of Guangdong Province” in 1999, “High-Tech Enterprise of Guangdong Province” in 2001 and “High-Tech Enterprises of China’s National Torch Program” in 2006.

At present, our company is undertaking many science and technology projects at national and provincial level. For instance, our “Extraction of Antineoplastic Substances from Crocodiles and New Drug Development” has been selected as a “National Science and Technology Key Project”. It is the only project selected in the country for the marine biotechnology category. Additionally, our “Deep Processing of Crocodile Products” and “Development of Highly Value-Added Marine Health Foods” jointly run with Sun Yat-sen University have been listed in China’s “Spark Program”. Our “Eel and Crocodile Marine Biological Products” has been selected for China’s National Torch Program. Moreover, our “Development of Eel Oil Product Series” was not only selected for “Guangdong Science and Technology Achievement Promotional Program”, but also China’s “Spark Program”. Furthermore, our “Deep Processing of Eel Oil Product Series” has been selected for Guangdong’s “Spark Program”.
