ETCP (Eel, Softshell Turtle, Crocodile, and Pearl)

Antaeus has been engaged in the research and development of marine functional foods since 1990. Starting from eel breeding, Antaeus has extended its R&D to softshell turtle, crocodile, and pearl. With active substances extracted from ETCP (Eel, Softshell Turtle, Crocodile, Pearl) to enrich and regulate body functions, Antaeus has developed a series of products that are beneficial in regulating blood fat and internal secretion, improving memory, preventing dementia and tumor, enhancing immunity, relieving fatigue, and beautifying skin.

Antaeus is the initiator of eel breeding ontidal flat in China and has established the largest eel farm domestically. As early as 1992, Antaeus’ eel breeding technique has already been listed in China’s “Spark Program”, which is a government program aimed at popularizing modern technology in rural areas. Besides eel farm, Antaeus has it s own softshell turtle farm and jointly-run pearl farm.In addition, Antaeus holds a significant stake in Sriracha Farm Group in Thailand. It is the largest crocodile farms in the world, where over 100,000 crocodiles are bred. These means Antaeus has a stable supply of raw materials for finished products. All the marine resources are bred in natural unpolluted environments.

Eelsare snakelike fish with elongated bodies. There are nearly 600 diverse species of eel and they are grouped into 19 families. Only the Anguillidae family regularly lives in fresh water. Freshwater eels have large, pointed heads and their dorsal fins are usually continuous with their caudal fins and anal fins, to form a fringe lining the posterior end of the body. They have small pectoral fins to help them navigate along river bottoms. Their bodies are protected by a layer of slippery mucus. As recorded in “Compendium of Materia Medica”, the most complete and comprehensive medical book in traditional Chinese medicine, eel is an excellent invigorant and is widely used for detoxification and to treat illness, including tuberculosis. Recognized as “ginseng in the water”, eels contain many nutrients that are essential to human body. They are rich in amino acids, protein, vitamin A, B and E, calcium, iron, and unsaturated fatty acid that cannot be synthesized by the body. For children, women, middle age and older people, regular consumption of eel can improve health and postpone aging.

Softshell Turtles (Trionychidae) are aquatic turtles with a rounded, flattened carapace covered with leathery skin. The carapace is pliable, particularly at the sides. They have long necks and streamlined heads with elongated proboscis-like snouts bearing the nostrils at the tips. Soft-shell turtles are eaten as a delicacy in many parts of the world, particularly in East Asia, because of their nutritive value and delicious taste. They are low-fat and rich in protein, calcium, iron, keratin and vitamins. “Softshell Turtle Streaky Pork”, a Chinese dish, implies that softshell turtle meat has a mixed taste and nutrition of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and fish.Softshell turtle meat has been considered as a high-value invigorant since the ancient times because its medical value is extremely high. The head, shell, bone, meat, egg, gallbladder and fat can be used to make medicine. The softshell turtle shell helps nourish the kidney and calm the liver. It can also used to treat cough, night sweat, kidney deficiency and amenorrhea. Softshell turtle gallbladder can treat hypertension. Softshell turtle egg can treat prolonged diarrhea. The blood can treat malnutrition and indigestion in children. The medical book “Compendium of Materia Medica” states that softshell turtle helps relieve fatigue, strengthen the yang and nourish the Yin, calm the liver and clear heat. Modern medical research also proves that softshell turtle can enhance immunity, relieve fatigue, postpone aging, strength the kidney and stomach, and energize the body. Therefore, softshell turtle preparation is always a popular health product in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Crocodile and dinosaur are consanguineous. Characterized by unique physiological functions and powerful vital force, crocodile is the only amphibian that has been living on earth for over 230 million years. This is clearly a biological wonder. Crocodile breathes with its lung, but it can hold its breath under the water for over 1 hour, which is much longer than whale, dolphin and seal. This is because the hemoglobin-amino acid chain of crocodile’s muscle has a very unique structure. It makes the oxygen carrying capacity of crocodile’s hemoglobin 100 times more than that of other animals. In crocodile’s body, there is one substance that can optimize nucleic acid. This substance helps energize nucleic acid, enhance body’s resistance to diseases, stimulate enzyme and SOD, remove internal waste, and can prolong a crocodile’s life up to 150 years old.

Historical record shows that Chinese started consuming crocodile about 4000 years ago since the Xia Dynasty. During the Shang Dynasty, crocodile meat became a precious choice in royal banquet. The “Compendium of Materia Medica”by Li Shizhen in the Ming Dynasty states that crocodile meat is a valuable invigorant which can treat damp and skin blemishes. Regular consumption of crocodile meat can strengthen the body, remove speckles and beautify skin.

Scientists have discovered that there is a kind of optimized nucleic acid (a component of DNA and RNA) in crocodile. This component helps energize nucleic acid and promote the cracking of macrophage, lymphocyte and monocyte cells. It can destroy the membrane of tumor cells and kill tumor cells. In addition, it can stimulate catalase and SOD in human body, remove free radicals, and postpone aging. This spherical structure amino acid chain makes the capacity of hemoglobin in crocodile100 times more than that of other animals. Due to such oxygen supply and storage capability, crocodile has powerful vitality and longevity.

Modern medical researches prove that the whole body of crocodile is valuable.Crocodile meat, bone, shell, and internal organs are rich in high-grade protein, amino acids, unsaturated fatty acid, vitamins and microelements which are essential to human body. Our crocodile product series are made using the crocodiles we breed in Sriracha Crocodile Farm in Thailand. All nutrition and active ingredients from crocodile are retained using advanced process engineering.Herbal extract are added to provide complete and balanced invigorant.

Pearls are lustrous concretion produced by certain bivalve mollusksand valued as a gem. Pearls consist almost entirely of nacre, which is the substance forming the inner layers of the mollusk shells.Pearls have always been a beloved skin conditioner and supplement since ancient China. The “Compendium of Materia Medica” states that pearls are cold and nontoxic with salty odor and sweet taste. They are effective in relieving palpitation and improving vision. Applying pearl powder on the face can make the skin ruddy and healthy. Empress Dowager Ci Xi who ruled China for 48 years during the Qing Dynasty was an expert in skincare. According to historical record, she had eunuchs that specialized in pulverizing pearls for her. She ate a spoon of pearl powder every seven-day all the year round. At other times, she would mix pearl powder with perfumed essence and apply to face, because of this, her skin was still refined, exquisite and young-looking at age seventy. In ancient Egypt, noblewomen often mixed pearl powder with milk and applied on their body before bedtime to beautify their skin.
